Hospitality interior designed to effortlessly handle peak demand
Restaurant Wilhelmina Pavilion
Keukenhof
Lisse, the Netherlands
For the Restaurant Wilhelmina Pavilion at Keukenhof, Redie delivered a large-scale hospitality interior designed to handle extreme visitor numbers.
Commissioned by Horeca Totaal Bouw, we worked in assignment and co-creation on the complete interior for the renovation of this iconic pavilion in Lisse.
The restaurant is operated by Albron and serves as a key hospitality hub during the short but intensive Keukenhof season.
Keukenhof is open for just eight weeks a year, yet welcomes around 1.4 million visitors during that period. This demands an interior that can withstand heavy use.
Robust custommade solutions were therefore the starting point. Corners are finished with steel corner protectors, furniture is built to be highly durable, and the routing has been carefully thought through down to the smallest detail. Multiple checkout units (single and double) ensure smooth flow and minimal waiting times, even during peak moments.
Redie delivered, among other elements, wall panels and frames for TV screens, a large coffee counter, a custom-made seating bench of over 20 metres, condiment units, work islands, serving counters, checkout furniture, and metal presentation frames. Everything is integrated into one clear and logical whole.
The interior design by Coster Design draws inspiration from Queen Wilhelmina and the poetry of her era, translated into a contemporary hospitality environment. The result is a warm, welcoming atmosphere in which wood-look materials, subtle orange accents, and industrial steel shelving come together, complemented by classic walnut-look worktops that add depth and character.
Construction was completed in January 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the interior remained unused for more than a year; the official opening did not take place until 2021. Today, the pavilion has proven itself as a robust and efficient hospitality location for an international audience.
This project demonstrates what Redie excels at: delivering large-scale hospitality interiors where design, manufacturability, and intensive use come together. Custom-made solutions that perform day in, day out.
During the same period, Redie also delivered a new counter in the Willem-Alexander Pavilion and the Oranje-Nassau Pavilion.
