Custom work in multiple materials

Villa BSS

Best, The Netherlands

For a residential home in Best, Redie delivered a fully custom interior based on a design by interiorarchitect Susan Vermeer. The challenge lies in the combination of materials and the level of detailing that comes with it.

Solid stainless steel, oak, melamine and steel. Each material requires its own processing and construction. In execution, they must come together seamlessly, without issues in installation or use. That is the core of this project.

Together with Susan, we translated the design into a production-ready interior. Details were defined in advance and technically developed. How materials connect, how components are fixed, and how everything remains feasible in production and installation. This requires knowledge, precision and a team that does not shy away from complexity.

Experience and craftsmanship make complex details achievable.

The kitchen island demonstrates this. A solid stainless steel worktop with a welded-in sink, placed on a steel frame. Fronts are precisely aligned to this structure. The handle is milled into the front and closed at the back with oak.

The more materials are combined, the greater the need for precise engineering and detailed development, ensuring everything fits and continues to fit.

This is also reflected in the wall cabinet behind the island. Tilework, oak veneer and solid stainless steel shelves are engineered so that the construction becomes part of the whole. Craftsmanship and modern techniques come together here.

The wall unit in the living room is constructed using half-lap joints, applied within a contemporary structure. Again, traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques meet.

Fully custom here means: every detail is considered and developed in advance.
A design supported by craftsmanship, built with experience and executed with a clear passion for the trade.
